Processing

Anime4K runs a real AI network tuned for anime/stylized/game content. Real‑photo AI runs a different network built for real-world photos and video, but is much slower (see below). CPU is a fast, plain resize that works on any device — no WebGPU required. Fast resize + sharpen runs a real ffmpeg process entirely in your browser, for a plain, quick upscale with adjustable sharpening.

Denoise only 2× 4× Fit to 4K

With real-photo AI, every mode runs the same native 4× pass under the hood — 2× just shrinks that result afterwards, so it costs the same time as 4×.

Sharpen

Applied via ffmpeg's own Contrast Adaptive Sharpen filter, right after the resize. 0% is a plain resize with no sharpening; higher values add more edge contrast — drag to preview the effect on the current frame.

The noise-suppression network currently ships trained on animation footage only, so results on real-life/3D content will vary — it still generally helps with grain/blocking.

Export frame rate

Export renders one frame at a time and bakes in exactly this many frames per second of output, however long each one takes — this defaults to your source file's own detected frame rate, so motion plays back at its original speed. Lower it to finish sooner, at the cost of choppier motion.

Audio noise suppression by RNNoise via web-noise-suppressor (MIT). MP3 export via lamejs (LGPL-3.0). FLAC export via libflac.js (MIT). All processing happens on your device. This server only stores small, anonymous run metadata (media type & settings used, no file contents) for up to 7 days.
